Bahrain Public Works Ministry to Visit Ashghal Projects 

Eng Naser Ali Mawlawi, Acting General Manager of Public Works Authority (Ashghal) received in his office yesterday, 10/2/2009 a high-level delegation of the Ministry of Public Works of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed issues of common concern in the area of cooperation between Ashghal and the Ministry of Public Works, Kingdom of Bahrain, especially in the areas of infrastructure and the exchange of expertise. Presentations were made by the departments of Technical Service, Support Services and General Services at Ashghal regarding the services they provide.

From his part, Eng Naser Mawlawi stressed the importance of such visits that contribute in the exchange of expertise in all areas, especially in developing and managing infrastructure including sewerage, roads and buildings. He also stressed the importance of exchange of knowledge, methods of development, application of standards of quality and safety of projects, and checking the obstacles faced by both sides to come out with amicable solutions.

On the other hand, Ms Effat Reza, the Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services at the Ministry of Public Works of the Kingdom of Bahrain emphasized on the need to look at the experiments of Ashghal in developing project works and the results of its projects in addition to the areas of integration between the two sides, the obstacles they may face, the ways to develop solutions and to avoid obstacles, taking the advantage of the areas of finance and human resources, especially when both parties provide same kinds of services to the community.

Its worth mentioning that the Bahraini delegation will be conducting field visits to the Ashghal project sites on Wednesday and Thursday, 11 & 12 February 2009. The sites include Nuaija Treatment Plant, 22 February Road Project, Mesaimeer Road Project, Daayen Municipal Building Complex, some School Buildings and Kindergarten Buildings, in addition to their visit to the Museum of Islamic Art.

The Bahraini delegation lead by Ms Effat Reza Hassan, Assistant Under Secretary for Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Public Works, includes Eng Jameel Ahmed Mirza, Senior Engineer at Construction Projects Department, Eng Mona Jasem Motawa, Construction Projects Manager, Eng Sameer Abdul Kareem, Material Engineering Manager, Eng Huda Abdulla Fakhroo, Director of Road Planning and Designing, Eng Zubaida Ali Hashmi, Director of Drainage Project Planning and Mr Ahmed Abdulaziz Khayat, the HR Manager at the Ministry.

From the part of Ashghal, apart from the AGM, Eng Mohammed Darwish, Senior Technical Advisor and Acting Director of Assets Affairs, Eng Jalal Al-Salihi, Drainages Department Manager, Eng Jaber Ali Al Mohannadi, Director of Building Affairs  the Director of Buildings and Mr. Khalifa Hashim Al Sada Acting Public Relations Manager were present in the meeting.
