Deputy PM to address Gulf engineers’ meet 

HE Abdulla Hamad Al Atiyya, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry shall deliver the keynote address in the inaugural session of the 12th Gulf Engineering Forum to be held in Doha during 21-23 December 2008, the High Level Coordination Committee of the forum informed. HE Al-Atiyya shall speak on the topic “policies and consents in sustainable development” in the inaugural session to be held at Ritz on Sunday, 21st December 2008.

Apart from Ashghal, the coordination committee of the forum includes Qatar Engineering Society and Gulf Engineering Union, an umbrella of engineering societies in the GCC.

The Forum held under the title "Gulf Engineer and the challenges of sustainable development" coincides with an unprecedented boom in the areas of various engineering works in the gulf. The forum shall deal with the role of engineering forums, associations and bodies in imparting awareness on the importance of sustainable development, engineering project and sustainable development, research and engineering studies aiming sustainable development, policies and strategies to achieve sustainable development, education and engineering course in achieving sustainable development etc.

It may be noted that Qatari Diar and Barwa, two local real estate giants are the official sponsors of the forum.
