Nasser Al Mawlawi Takes Charge as Acting MD of Ashghal
HE Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Municipal and Urban Planning and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Public Works Authority and the Urban Planning and Development Authority issued decision appointing Eng Nasser Al Maulawi as the new acting Managing Director of Public Works Authority (Ashghal). The resolution states that all the related sectors and authorities shall follow respective implementation of this resolution that is valid from the date of issue.
Eng Nasser Ali Abdullah Mawlawi is a reputed national cadre in his mid forties. He has taken his engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from Boston University, the United States in 1987. He joined the engineering and works unit of the Qatar Armed Forces as Engineer Officer in 1988 and served the army until 2003, developing his career to the rank of Colonel Engineer. He was then deputed to the Organizing Committee of the Asian Games Doha 2006 as CEO of the facilities and projects management during June 2003 - June 2007. During this period, he oversaw many projects and facilities for the Games, as he was responsible for managing operations at all facilities of the Games. Later, he joined Barwa in June 2007 as the CEO of Barwa City project and served the company till this new assignment. He is recipient of numerous appreciations for participation in many engineering courses and facilities management. Earlier, H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani has issued the Emiri decree to form a temporary executive committee for the Public Works Authority and Urban Planning and Development Authority chaired by the Minister of Municipal and Urban Planning, with membership including the Minister of Environment, Managing Directors of Ashghal and UPDA, a representative of the Office of the Prime Minister and a representative of Kahramaa.
