Doha: Public Works Authority ASHGHAL has decided temporary closure of Salwa Road extension between Jaber bin Ahmed Intersection (Ramada Signal) and Musheirab Intersection (Jaidah Flyover) for two days from Thursday, 19/11/2009, to be reopened for commuters on Sunday, 22/11/2009. The closure is for pavement of new asphalt layer completely on the stretch.
Ashghal regrets any inconvenience to the public due to this closure and appeals commuters to use alternate routes to continue their trip along the closed stretch. It may be noted that Ashghal takes care to reduce the impact of road closures on the public, and tries to implement all such maintenance works during weekends, clarified Eng Al Kubaisi, head of Road Maintenance Section at the Road Operation and Maintenance Department (ROMD) at Ashghal.
The ROMD is undertaking such maintenance on most of the major streets and roads in the country in view of road safety and life security, clarified Eng Al Kubaisi. So far, the department has completed maintenance of many streets including Majlis Taawn Street, Khaleej Street, Wukair - Mesaimeer Street, Maha Street and Makkah Street at Luqta, Women’s College Street, Khaleej Street, Bida Street etc. The department is keen on regular maintenance of such streets, junctions and roundabouts until new projects are developed to replace them with renovated infrastructure.
