Provision of Street Name Signs

(1) The following is a general outline of the scope of work, however the full scope and extent of the works forming the contract is based on the Bills of Quantities of this Tender document. Quantities entered into the Bills of Quantities are a genuine pre-estimate by the Engineer of quantities that may be expected to result from the contract.
All Bill of Quantities items are subject to re-measure in accordance with Clause 51 of the Conditions of Contract and no claim for adjustment to the re-measured Contract Price or Rates due to discrepancies between Billed and measured quantities will be entertained.
(2) The Works shall consist and not necessarily limited to the following:
(a) Carryout regular inspection on existing street name signs, posts and similar sign support structures etc. throughout the State of Qatar based on a agreed programme schedule. Investigate and suggest locations where signage is inadequate, missing or require improvement in order to keep all streets are installed with proper naming signage, updated and free of accident damages throughout the contract period consistently.
(b) Routine maintenance and remedial works on accident damages including attending emergency situations immediately.
(c) Provide material and installation as required for the proper repair, maintenance, update and improve all types of street name signage within the specified area.
 
 The Contractor shall continuously engage his staff in exploring new locations where the measures are absent, lacking or require improvement and report to the Engineer with proposals / designs for improvement.
 
 Keep record of all activities, follow-up work and report to the Engineer on an agreed basis.

 The Contractor shall be responsible for the inspection, checking, and maintenance of all listed signage and associated fixtures & fixings by cleaning, washing, lubricating, repairing and replacement as necessary in order to keep them in an acceptable condition.  The Contractor's survey shall include identifying of existing non-standard or wrongly positioned signs etc. The Contractor shall note that the work may be required to proceed in more than one location at any one time.
