Public Works Authority “Ashghal” has completed the project of development of Al Khor port and expansion of its channel, which costs more than 93 million Qatar riyals. The works include drilling three basins and deepening the channel at 5 km length, 60m wide and 3.5m deep from the lowest sea level.

The project includes construction of naval platform along 485 meters length with all facilities such as bracing for ships, wooden pillars and stairs. Naval floating docks are also constructed along 430 meters for the use of fiber boats. In addition, there is a refueling dock with reservoirs and pumps.

The work also included providing storage areas, floors and squares, toilets and refreshing, Mosque, restaurant, lightings and other infrastructure works.
