Opening of Al Markhiya and Dahl Al Hamam Intersections

Road users coming from TV Roundabout and heading to Dahl Al Hamam intersection can take a right turn and use the service road to access Al Majalis Street and Street 245.
​The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ will open Al Markhiya and Dahl Al Hamam intersections that have been converted from roundabouts to signalised intersection, starting from Sunday morning 31st of August, 2014.

Ashghal also announced that the final layer of asphalt will be laid on Al Markhiya intersection through Friday and Saturday 29th and 30th of August 2014. Therefore, Al Markhiya intersection and accesses to roads leading to it will be closed during these two days in order for the intersection to be open for traffic Sunday morning. 

During this closure, the road diversions highlighted in the attached map will be put into place. Road users coming from TV Roundabout and heading to Dahl Al Hamam intersection can take a right turn and use the service road to access Al Majalis Street and Street 245 (also known as Arab League Street).
 
While road users coming from Street 245 and heading towards Al Gharrafa Interchange (also known as Immigration Interchange) can take a right turn at Wadi Al Wajba Street to reach Khalifa Street.
 
Moreover, road users coming from Jassim bin Hamad Street and heading towards Khalifa Street will need to take a right turn to Al Wabra Street and then a left to Yanbu Street to reach Khalifa Street.
 
Road users coming from Al Gharrafa Interchange and heading to TV Roundabout can take a right turn to Oman bin Abdulaziz Street then right turn to Al Fayhani Street, then left to Omar bin Al Khattab Street towards Al Wabra Street and then a left turn to Yanbu Street.
 
Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the diversion. The authority also requests all road users to abide by the speed limits and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
 
It is worth mentioning that the artscape works in the area will soon be implemented without affecting the traffic flow.
