The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that it will implement a
temporary closure on part of Mohamed bin Thani Street, in the direction from
the Civil Defence Roundabout towards National Museum. The lanes on the opposite
direction will remain open to traffic as per the attached map. The closure will start on the morning of
Wednesday, 31 August 2016 and will last until the morning of Thursday 1 September
2016, and in coordination with the Traffic Police Department.
The temporary closure aims at completing the works to convert the Civil
Defence Roundabout into a signalised intersection, which are part of the fifth
phase of the Development of Intersections and Roundabouts project in several
areas in greater Doha. The project aims to enhance the traffic flow and reduce
the congestion in major areas.
Ashghal will install road
signs to advise motorists of the works. The authority requests all road users
to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their and
others safety.
