Removal of existing steel bridge at Al Luqta Street

3/26/2019

Shifting traffic to a new parallel road

The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, will implement a traffic diversion along Al Luqta Street between the Tilted junction and Al Gharrafa Interchange to facilitate the construction of a new tunnel on Al Bustan North project part of Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor. The road layout change will start on Friday 29 March 2019 and will remain in place for one (1) year.

During the diversion, designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, a new two (2) lanes road parallel to Al Luqta Street will replace the existing diversion and steel bridge. Road users heading from the Tilted Junction towards Al Gharrafa Interchange and vice versa will be shifted to the new parallel road, as shown in the attached map.

The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic shift and requests all road users to abide by the 50 kph speed limit and follow road signs to ensure their safety.
