Removal of the Roundabouts Located to the East and West of Al Mazrooah Interchange

Traffic changes on Al Mazrooah Interchange following the removal of the two R/A

​The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, announces the removal of two roundabouts located to the east and west of Al Mazrooah Interchange which will be implemented on Sunday 04 November 2018 to allow the completion of the Orbital Road construction works at Al Mazrooah Interchange.

The proposed change has been designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic and will remain permanently in place.

As shown on the attached map, Road users will follow the following directions according to their desired destination:

From Umm Slal Ali area:

Exiting Umm Slal Ali area, road users can directly access the Orbital Road westbound lanes and drive a distance of 4 km in order to reach Jery Al Samur Interchange. At the Interchange they can perform a U-turn and access a temporary road, parallel to the Orbital Road, through which they can connect to Al Shamal Service Road at the first right turn in order to:

  • Access all Umm Slal Mohammed facilities, such as the Health Centre, the Girls’ School and the petrol station.
  • Access Al Shamal Road towards Doha, and access Al Kheesa Interchange through which they can access Al Shamal Road towards Al Ruwais; they can also use the first right turn to access the Orbital Road eastbound lanes towards Lusail.

From Umm Slal Mohammed area:

Road users coming from Umm Slal Mohammed area wishing to reach Umm Slal Ali area facilities’ such as the Immigration Services Centre, the Civil Defense or the Police Department, will Exit Umm Slal Mohammed area and directly access AL Shamal Road Doha bound where they can perform a U-turn at Al Khessa Interchange and access Al Shamal Road towards Al Ruwais. Once reaching Al Sakhama signalized Interchange Road users can access Umm Slal Ali area and facilities.

The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic shift and request all road users to abide by the speed limit which remains at 80 kph along the route, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
