The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that it will implement a temporary closure of the Olympic Intersection (Sports Intersection), on the main lanes of the four sides of the intersection, for a period of 7 hours only. The closure starts on Thursday evening, 22 November 2018 and will last until Friday morning, 23 November 2018, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.
During this period, traffic heading to the Olympic Intersection from its four sides can turn right only and use the next intersection, as shown in the attached map.
This temporary closure aims to allow connecting the cables of the radar cameras at the Olympic Intersection, as part of the development works implemented on intersections and roundabouts in various areas of the Greater Doha, which aim to enhance the flow of traffic and reduce congestion in vital areas.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the closure. Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
