The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces a temporary closure on Khalifa Street between Al Corniche Street and Al Bidda Street starting Saturday 10 August 2019 until Wednesday 21 August 2019. Designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, this closure will facilitate the construction of pedestrian underpasses aiming to provide safe and efficient crossings for Qatar people.
During this period, traffic on Khalifa Street will be diverted to parallel Al Markhiya or Mohammad bin Thani Streets, as shown in the map.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the closure. Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
