​The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces a temporary traffic change on 3 kilometers of Al Luqta Street, between Tilted Intersection and approximately 300 meters after Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange, to facilitate the completion of the road works.

The diversion, designed in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, will be implemented on Wednesday, 19 December 2018 and will be in place until 5 January 2019.

During this time, Doha bound traffic from Dukhan and vice versa will be diverted to the two-lane service roads that run parallel to Al Luqta Street, as shown in the attached map.

On 21 and 22 December and separately on 28 and 29 December, all left turn movements on Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange will be closed and road users will be required to make a U-turn at Tilted Intersection, Bani Hajer Interchange or Al Wajbah Interchange to get back on to Khalifa Avenue. Once back at Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange, they will be able to make a right turn towards their destinations.

The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the diversion. Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the 50kph speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
