‘Ashghal’ is working on establishing an advanced Expressway network in Doha and all regions in Qatar. The Expressway program includes the construction of 935 km of roads by 2022 and over 150 km by 2030 as part of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Programme also includes the construction and development of an integrated infrastructure network equipped with state-of-the-art, reliable infrastructural utilities, including drainage networks, electricity networks, and smart transportation systems, improving lighting and traffic signal systems, in addition to developing potable water network and the surface water drainage network. Additionally the programme will include beautification works and will deliver enhanced facilities for cyclists and pedestrians.
Qatar’s entire road network has been reviewed in order to design this programme and construct an integrated road network to accommodate all regions across Qatar. As the projects progress their positive impact will gradually appear notably through improved traffic flow and enhanced traffic safety.
