C682/2: Pumping Station 70 & Associated Pumping Mains.

Construction of an in-house designed 40m deep foul sewage pumping station – PS 70 and associated triple 1600mm diameter DI pumping mains discharging to the new Doha North Sewage Treatment Works (STW).
In brief the component works include:

Screen chamber 40m deep by 22m internal diameter.
Lifting pumping station, 40m deep by 40m internal diameter, housing 8nr duty fixed speed dry well pumps rated at 1,316 l/sec each.
Forwarding pumping station located at ground level, housing 8 nr duty variable speed pumps rated at 1,316 l/sec each.
Motor control rooms.
HV and Generator buildings.
Administration building.
Workshop and Store buildings.
Odour control facility

Benefits

Though it is a part of the wider Doha North sewage treatment and associated works, the project not only calls for the construction of several complicated structures on a 200 x 200m site that must also blend in with the residential area when completed, but also for a triple 1600mm pumping main to feed the new Doha North Sewage Treatment Works (STW), 25km away.
