The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that it will implement a full closure of Al Thumama Junction for 36 hours, in order to lay the final asphalt layer at the junction which is part of the E-Ring and Najma roads development project. The closure will start on Thursday 7 July 2016 at midnight until Saturday 9 July at noon in coordination with the Traffic Police Department.
During this period, traffic on Al Thumama Junction will be diverted to the surrounding streets, as shown in the attached map.
Drivers coming on the Najma Street Extension Road going towards or coming from Barwa / Wakra, are advised to rather take F-Ring and Al Mattar Street, instead of continuing straight on Najma Street towards Al Thumama Junction.
Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the closure. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their and others safety.
