The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that it will implement a temporary closure on Mohamed Bin Thani Street in both directions to and from the Civil Defence Intersection, which was scheduled to be implemented during last week but was postponed until the completion of another part of the project.
The closure will be implemented in coordination with the Traffic Police Department over two phases as follows:
First: The street will be closed in the direction from the Civil Defence Intersection to the Medical City Intersection, starting from the evening of Thursday 8 September 2016 to the morning of Saturday 10 September 2016.
Second: The street will be closed in the direction from the Medical City Intersection to the Civil Defence Intersection, starting from the morning of Saturday 10 September 2016 to the morning of Monday 12 September 2016, as shown on the attached map.
The temporary closure aims at completing the works to convert the Civil Defence Roundabout into a signalised intersection, which are part of the fifth phase of the Development of Intersection and Roundabouts project in several areas in the Municipality of greater Doha. The project aims to enhance the traffic flow and reduce the congestion in major areas.
Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the works. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their and others safety.
