The project works comprise the construction of “Interim Upgrade of E-Ring Road and Najma Street” project, all in accordance with the Tender Documents. The completion of the project is separated into 2 milestones:
• Milestone 1 comprises the Al Hadara Street signalized junction with Najma Street, to be completed within 4 months of commencement
• Milestone 2 comprises the balance of the works, to be completed within 18 months of commencement
1. Milestone 1 Scope
The scope comprises approximately 0.68km of realignment and widening of Najma Street, and approximately 0.46km of similar work on Al Hadar Street, as well as associated works and Temporary Traffic Measures. A new signalized junction is to be constructed at the junction of Al Hadara Street with Najma Street.
2. Milestone 2 Scope
The scope comprises approximately 2.3km realignment and widening of Najma Street, and approximately 3.3km realignment and widening of E-Ring Road, and associated works and Temporary Traffic Measures.
Two existing junctions at Al Oqba Bin Nafie Street/Najma Street, and E-Ring Road/Najma Street (Al Thumama junction) are to be upgraded to signalized junctions. The existing signalized junction at Al Matar Street/E-Ring Road will be improved and adjusted to allow U-turn movements.
A pedestrian footbridge across E-Ring Road is to be constructed (Provisional item)
3. Temporary Traffic Measures and Safety
Both E-Ring Road and Najma Streets are heavily trafficked high-category urban routes. Execution of the works requires diversion of the existing roads and maintenance of traffic strictly in accordance with Ashghal/Qatar codes, and to ensure the safety of road users and contractors staff during construction. No net lane closures will be permitted.
The actual quantities for whole of the Works are subject to re-measurement in accordance with Sub Clauses 55.1 and 55.2 of the Particular Conditions of Contract.
