The Public Works Authority ’Ashghal’ announces that a traffic diversion will be carried out on parts of Al Bidda Street (Majlis Al Taawon) and Khalifa Street at Corniche, for a period of 90 days starting Friday 1 January 2021, as part of the Doha Central Development and Beautification Project – Package 4. The diversion will be implemented as follows:
The number of lanes on Al Bidda Street (Majlis Al Taawon) from Oryx intersection to Lekhwair intersection will be reduced from 4 to 3 lanes, and the part of Khalifa street between Corniche Street and Oryx intersection will be closed. Road users can use Al Markhiya Street and the surrounding streets to reach their destinations, as shown in the above map.
The Public Works Authority will install sufficient road signage to alert road users with this closure. In order to ensure safety of all, commutes need to abide by the speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
