The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces the implementation of a temporary closure of two lanes on Al Istiqlal Street in both directions between 5/6 Interchange and Onaiza Intersection (known as the Qatar Club Intersection).
The other two lanes on Al Istiqlal Street will remain open to traffic, as shown in the attached map.
The closure starts on Tuesday 16 October and will last until 23 October 2018, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.
The closure aims to pave the last layer of asphalt on Al Istiqlal Street and will be implemented in two phases to ensure a free traffic flow.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the changes on the road. ‘Ashghal’ requests all road users to abide by the speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
