The Public Works Authority ’Ashghal’ has reopened Al-Waab Street before commuters on Tuesday, 23/11/2010 after completion of modification works within the project for upgrading 22 February & Al-Amir Streets and their Interchanges.
The dual carriage street between Al-Sadd Interchange and AL-Waab Interchange consists of a 900 meter three lane dual carriages way passing through Nasser bin Salemeen Interchange (formerly Soudan Intersection).
Being a busy street within the heart of the city, Ashghal has taken steps to avoid complete closure of the street during modification works and to ensure traffic flow.
Whereas works on the Salemein Interchange are steadfast to enable for opening the complete interchange that consists of traffic signals and approach roads within the near future.
Ashghal appeals commuters to be cautious of the speed limits and to follow traffic signage in order to assure safety of all.
