Ashghal Celebrates 2nd Batch Graduates of Various Training Programs

Ashghal celebrates the graduation of the 2nd batch graduates who have completed its training programs, in the presence of the President of Ashghal, alongside managers, affairs directors, assistant managers, section heads and the graduates.

The Public Works Authority 'Ashghal' celebrates the graduation of the 2nd batch graduates who have completed its training programs, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmad Al Muhannadi, the President of Ashghal, alongside managers, affairs directors, assistant managers, section heads and the graduates. The ceremony witnessed the graduation of 115 employees and engineers from the 7 certified training programs that are prepared by 'Ashghal' and represented by the Human Resources Department at the Authority over the past years to develop employees, as the number of training participations reached 15808.

From his side, H.E. Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmad Al Muhannadi, President of Ashghal was pleased to graduate the 2nd batch graduates, noting the importance of achieving and developing distinct human resource that can progress with high efficiency to keep pace and develop in the engineering field, and work on establishing the State's infrastructure plans. Therefore, we place great importance on training and developing our employees by offering them various training programs designed to develop functional career competencies and Qatari cadres, as this will positively impact their performance in their jobs.

Mr. Rashid Saeed Al-Hajri, Manager of The Human Resources Department was delighted to graduate the trainees from various training programs and noted that through the Training and Organizational Development Section at 'Ashghal', we seek to offer a continuous and lifelong training and development process, as our commitment does not end when merely hiring an employee, but we also ensure that we offer training solutions designed to be in line with the requirements of the professional development of engineers and non-engineers. We also look forward to increasing the number of training programs to train more employees and achieve more and various cooperatives. He noted that the 'Ashghal' has taken on a continuous interest to develop the human resource in pursuit of Qatar National Vision 2030.

From her part, Ms. Rouda Mosaed Al-Nasser, Acting Head of the Training and Organizational Development Section said that: “We are proud to graduate a distinguished selection of the Qatari cadres, as we, in 'Ashghal' believe in the importance of training and developing the employees. 'Ashghal' was keen to prepare and offer various training programs that are in line with different occupational levels to ensure career advancement, as the duration of the training programs in the Authority ranges between 24-36 months.

 The programs include: Leadership Development Program for supervisory positions, Project Management Program which aims to develop freshly graduated Qatari engineers' capabilities, Job Succession Program which aims to establish a second row of Qatari leaders to occupy future leadership roles in the Authority, Graduate Development Program which aims to develop fresh graduates (non-engineers), Administrative Development Program which aims to develop clerical positions, Individual Development Plans which aims to develop the abilities and skills of Qatari employees, in addition to the Professional Certifications Program for Qatari employees who are enrolled in the Professional Certification Program.

“Ashghal" has undertaken various initiatives in the field of training and development with the aim of achieving social responsibility by providing practical training to university students in which 54 Qatari students and 11 non-Qatari students were trained in engineering and administrative fields including local and international universities for 120 hours.

The Future Engineer 2 initiative was launched in collaboration with the Scientific Club last August and has contributed to providing various experiences and knowledge to students by introducing them to the various engineering fields in the Authority through direct practical application in various stages of the program in several departments and sections of the Authority. The content of the program was designed to fit the abilities and potential of students, encourage them to think creatively, while emphasizing on practical application and use of modern technology during the program stages to motivate them to implement projects and find solutions to obstacles during application.

During the ceremony, H.E. Dr. Eng. Saad bin Ahmad Al Muhannadi, honoured some of the partner entities that contributed to providing support to “Ashghal's" engineers through the development of training programs, in addition to honouring employees who won the first three places in the Leadership Program, which was held in collaboration with Qatar Leadership Centre.

It is worth noting that Ashghal has graduated around 200 graduates in the first batch of training programs last September.
