The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ inaugurated Umm Salal Ali Interchange before the traffic movement that serves two areas of Umm Salal Ali and Al Mazroaa.
Umm Salal Ali Interchange, the last one in Al Shamal road project, allows turning easily from and to Doha and from and to Al Shamal.
Umm Salal Ali is considered the biggest interchange on Al Shamal Road as it contains 3 upper lanes from every direction specialized for the heavy and light vehicles.
The implementation of this interchange represents the second and the third phase of Al Shamal road that include a lot of constructional works such as executing 93 km of 4 lines in both directions of Al Shamal road, executing 5 km that consists of 3 lines in both directions to Semisema road and executing 13.7 km consists of two lines in both directions of the sub streets.
It also includes the execution of 48 km that consists of one line in both directions of the serving streets in addition to the executions of 22 interchanges of various sizes.
The project includes also establishing 8 camel crosses and installing trucks weight equipment as well as implementing services networks required along the road such as (electricity, water and water processing).
The second phase of Al Shamal road starts from Duheil interchange to Al Khor interchange including Semisema road of 33 km long.
The work includes the construction of 4 lanes in every direction with the serving roads in addition to multi-level nine interchanges and development of infrastructural networks.
Meanwhile, the third phase of Al Shamal road extends from Al Khor interchange to Al Royes interchange of 61 km long.
The works include the construction of 4 lanes in every direction with serving roads on road sides, five crosses, tunnels two trucks stations in addition to developing the infrastructural and decoration works.
The project also includes the construction of 9 bridges with two lanes in every direction, 11 bridges with one lane and two tunnels, a tunnel with one lane and the other with two lanes in every direction.
The works include also the construction of Al Shamal road with four lanes in every direction with length of 93 km and Semesima road with three lanes in every direction with length of around 5 km.
It includes the construction of a road with two lanes in every direction with length of 13.7 km and a road with two lanes of 48 km long in one direction in addition to many roads and maintenance of traffic safety.
It is worth mentioning that there will be a fourth phase of Al Shamal road that will start from El Zobaraa interchange to Ras Eshiraj bridge that connects Qatar with Bahrain and this bridge is of around 35 km long.
The works include the construction of 4 lanes in every direction with serving roads on both sides of the road, 6 multi-level interchanges, 3 crosses, tunnels and infrastructural works.
