The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces temporary closure of eastbound lanes of Al Gharrafa Interchange underpass (known as Immigration Interchange) on Friday 9 August 2019 for 12 hours from 12am to 12pm. The traffic change, which is in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, aims to facilitate completion of upgrading works at the interchange.
During this period, traffic coming from Al Luqta Street and wishing to reach Khalifa Street will be required to exit right and stay at-grade to reach 22 February Street and continue straight to make a U-turn at Al Rayyan Interchange then turn right at Al Gharrafa Interchange to continue eastbound on Khalifa Street, as shown in the attached map.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the closure. Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
