The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ has announced that 2 lane existing road at North Gharrafa Street linking Tilted Roundabout to the roundabout known as “Al Gharrafa Roundabout” (North bound) will be closed from Monday August 26, 2013 as part of the development of infrastructure works on Al Gharrafa Street.
A new diversion route with 3 lanes of free flowing traffic will be open to ensure north bound traffic flow and safety of workers and road users during construction works. While the existing road (South bound) that links “Al Gharrafa Roundabout” to Tilted Roundabout remains the same to ensure smooth traffic flow and to avoid congestions that can be caused by construction works on Al Gharrafa Street.
It is to mention that Al Gharrafa Street upgrading works is part of Dukhan Highway East project, one of Ashghal’s key Expressway Projects, which is a nationwide road infrastructure programme that fulfils the Qatar National Vision 2030.
