Partial Closure of Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange and Al Luqta Service Roads

Doha bound and Dukhan bound exits from Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange will be closed

​The Public Works Authority Ashghal announces a partial closure of Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange and the service roads along Al Luqta Street, starting Sunday 4 August until Saturday 10 August 2019, to enable the works of the final layer of asphalt on Khalifa Avenue.

During this traffic change which is in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, the Doha bound and Dukhan bound exits from Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange and the southbound carriageway of Gharrafat al Rayyan Street will be closed. While the other routes at Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange will remain open including the straight traffic movement between Doha and Dukhan, as well as Gharrafat Al Rayyan Tunnel. 

Road users coming from Ghrrafat Al Rayyan heading towards Bani Hajer, Al Rayyan, Dukhan, Doha and Qatar foundation will have to use the alternative routes. As shown on the attached map, road users will have to follow the below directions according to their destinations.

From Gharrafat Al Rayyan to Bani Hajer, Al Rayyan or Dukhan

Traffic heading towards Bani Hajer, Al Rayyan or Dukhan on Gharrafat Al Rayyan Street will be directed to internal roads through Nega Al Sahla Street.

From Gharrafat Al Rayyan to Doha and Qatar Foundation

Traffic heading towards Qatar Foundation and Doha on Gharrafat Al Rayyan Street will have to take Gharrafat Al Rayyan tunnel.

From Qatar Foundation to Doha

Road users leaving Qatar Foundation to Doha will not be able to use Gate 1, they will have to use Gate 2.

The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the closure and requests all road users to abide by the 50kph speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
