​The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ will implement a partial closure on Ruwais Street in both directions, between Al-Shamal Health Centre and Ruwais Street’s intersection with Al-Hawaya Street (before Al-Ruwais Shopping Mall), starting Tuesday 2 July 2019 for a period of 3 months, in coordination with the General Directorate of traffic.

During this time, traffic coming from Madinat Al-Shamal Street and heading to Al-Ruwais Shopping Mall can turn right to Al-Meena Street, and then left to Al-Ghariya Street, then use Al-Gheena Street leading to Al-Ruwais Shopping Mall. Traffic heading back from Al-Ruwais Shopping Mall towards Madinat Al-Shamal Street can use the same diversion route, as shown in the attached map.

This closure aims to allow for implementing the works on the Roads and Infrastructure Development Project in Al Shamal - Package 1, as part of Ashghal’s efforts to rehabilitate the existing roads and to establish new and permanent roads in Al Shamal area.

The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic shift. Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
