​The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that it will implement a temporary closure of the underpass at the Gulf Intersection (known as Al Mannai Roundabout) in both directions on Al Khaleej Street, for around 4 hours everyday for 2 weeks, starting from Thursday 9 May until Tuesday 21 May 2019. The closure will be in place from 2:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Fridays, and from 2:00 AM until 6:00 AM on weekdays, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.

During this period, road users can use Al Mannai Roundabout on Al Khaleej Street to reach their destinations. The Western exit of Al Mannai Roundabout will also be closed. Traffic heading westbound from Souq Waqif towards Al Rumailah Hospital on Al Rayyan Road, will have to turn right towards Marmar Palace Roundabout and make a U-turn, then use a temporary side road that connects Al Rayyan Road to Al Khaleej Street, as shown in the attached map.

This temporary closure aims to complete the installation of new bridge on the Northern part of Al Mannai Roundabout, as part of the Interim Improvement of the B-Ring Road, Al Mannai Roundabout and Qasr Diyafa Roundabout, with the aim to enhance the flow of traffic and reduce congestion in vital areas.

The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the closure. Ashghal requests all road users to abide by the speed limit, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
