The Public Works Authority, ‘Ashghal’, announces a temporary closure of the southeast ramp at Umm Al Afaei Interchange that will be implemented on Tuesday, 25 December 2018 to facilitate excavation and repair works of Kahramaa Water pipelines.

The proposed temporary closure was designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic and will be in place for a period of one month.

As shown in the attached map, instead of using the southeast ramp at Umm Al Afaei Interchange, road users coming from Salwa Road and heading northbound on the Orbital Road towords Doha and eastern areas, will continue straight over Junction 5 tunnel until reaching Umm Al Juwashin Interchange, the intersection of the Orbital Road with Dukhan Road.

At Umm Al Juwashin Interchange, road users can take the southeast free right exit towards Doha.

All road users, including heavy vehicles and trucks, heading to Umm Al Afaei petrol station, should remain on the main carriageway, follow the same route and use the first exit loop at Umm Al Juwashin Interchange, in order to access the newly opened Service Road leading to the petrol station.

The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic change and request all road users to abide by the speed limit which remains at 80 kph along the route, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
