Temporary Road Diversion on Al Mansoura/ Al Matar Intersection and Al Mansoura Street

The temporary road diversion is required to complete the rehabilitation works of the existing underground sewerage network within Najma area
The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announces that it will implement a temporary road diversion on Al Mansoura/Al Matar Intersection and part of Al Mansoura Street as shown in the attached map, in full coordination with the MOI- Traffic Department-Engineering and Safety Department. The diversion will start on Monday 29 February 2016 and will be as follows:
-Traffic Diversion along Al Matar Street will be established for a period of 3 weeks.
-Traffic Diversion for Al Mansoura Street will be established for a period of 6 weeks. 
  It is required to complete the rehabilitation works of the existing underground sewerage network within Najma area.
The Traffic Diversion will be implemented as follows:
·         Left turn from Al Mansoura Street onto Al Matar Street will be closed. Drivers need to take a right turn to Najma Intersection (Known as Toyota Signal) and make a U-turn onto Al Matar Street.
 
·         Left turn from Al Matar Street onto Al Mansoura Street will be closed. Drivers need to continue to Al Doha Al Jadeeda Intersection (Known as the Crazy Signal), make a U-turn onto Al Matar Street, then turn right into Al Mansoura Street.
 
·         Eastbound lanes on Al Matar Street, leading from the Al Doha Al Jadeeda Intersection towards Najma Intersection, will be reduced from three to two lanes near Al Mansoura Intersection, and will return back to three lanes after the intersection. The westbound three lanes on Al Matar Street will be maintained.
 
·         One lane in each direction will be maintained on Al Mansoura St
 
·         The existing on-street parking on Al Mansoura Street will be restricted for 300 metres from the intersection.
 
·         Alternative traffic routes are marked as shown in the map.
Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the diversion. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their and others safety.
