Surgery Hospital

Brief description

​The project includes designing, constructing, and operating a surgery extension, which is considered to be an engineering dream as it is going to be the first surgery building to be constructed in Qatar and equipped with all the medical and pragmatic needs that abide by best in class international standards. The extension includes 20 new operation theatres Trauma Intensive Care Unit (TICU), Post Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Pre-operative Units (Pre-op), an Interventional Imaging Department and associated energy and services. It also includes a helipad connected to the operation theatres and intensive care units, car park that accommodates 800 cars, and an energy and services centre.

Benefits

The building will be equipped with machines and systems of contemporary high technology, which are used for the first time in operation theatres such as the possibility of radiographing during the operation to ensure the success of the surgical intervention, and reduce complications.


When completed, this project will improve the capabilities of Hamad General Hospital, and its capacity to accommodate the vast numbers of patients suffering from long surgery waiting lists. 

The independent Surgery Hospital will be considered an added value to the health sector in Qatar, and the first special building for surgery in Qatar equipped with the most advanced machines, systems, and medical and administrative teams to achieve the goals aimed for according to best in class standards.
