Ashghal undertook a major upgrading of the Corniche Street and surrounding areas to convert eight roundabouts and an interchange to signal-controlled intersections. Roundabouts that have been converted into intersections are: Museum of Islamic Arts Roundabout, Al Diwan Roundabout, The National Theatre Roundabout, Wadi Al Sail Roundabout, Ludaihi Roundabout, Onaiza Roundabout, Q Post Roundabout, Lejbailat Roundabout and Grand Hamad Junction.
Ashghal also started beautification works to embellish the Corniche Street and the enhancement works on the new intersections, which will be done over the coming weeks without causing any disruption to the traffic and commuters in the area. The beautification works will include the installation of new decorative hard landscaping along the medians, sidewalks, pedestrian crossing areas.
