The Public Works Authority in the State of Qatar seek to prequalify competent and eligible International Consultants with relevant capabilities and experience for the provision of Engineering Consultancy Services for the New District of Doha Pumping Station & Outfall project and/or the South of Wakrah Pumping Station & Outfall project in Qatar. The prospective Consultants who express interest in participating in the future tendering process are hereby invited to submit their prequalification documents in accordance with the requirements prescribed below. In the future tendering process tenders for the Consulting services will be based on a closed tendering process, and will be invited only from the selected list of successfully prequalified Consultants. Whilst Consultants will be able to submit a tender for both projects ,only one project will be awarded to any one Consultant.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKS
The planned New District of Doha Pumping Station and Outfall infrastructure will comprise Onshore Tunnels, Pumping Stations and a Long Sea Outfall. The catchment area is 220 km2. Peak flow during rainfall events is of the order of 26 m3/s, whilst the base flow is of the order of 2 m3/s. The diameter for the marine outfall is 3 m – 4.5 m, whilst the marine outfall pumping station will have a flow range of between 2 and 14 m3/s. The project will involve major upstream tunnelling works 25 – 35 km in length at depth ranges of 15 – 35m, internal diameters in the range 2.5m – 4.5m. A large inland upstream pumping station discharging to a balancing pond ultimately feeding a proposed wetland – pumping flow range between 2 and 7 m3/s.
The planned South of Wakrah Pumping Station and Outfall infrastructure will comprise Onshore Tunnels, Pumping Station and a Long Sea Outfall. The catchment area is 150 km2. Peak flow during rainfall events is of the order of 20 m3/s, whilst the base flow is of the order of 2 m3/s. The diameter for the marine outfall is 2.75 m – 3.5 m, whilst the marine outfall pumping station will have a flow range of between 2 and 18 m3/s. The project will involve major upstream tunnelling works 20 – 30 km in length at depth ranges of 15 – 35m, internal diameters in the range 2.5 m – 4.5 m.

SUBMISSION OF PREQUALIFICATION APPLICATION
The closing date for submitting the Prequalification Application in accordance with the requirements set out in the Instruction to Applicants shall be no later than (Sunday 17th July 2016 at 1:00 pm (local Doha time). The Applicant’s attention is drawn to the requirement that Two hard copies and four soft copies on Compact Disks (CDs) must be included as part of the submission.
