The Works are to be carried out on Major and Minor Roads throughout the State of Qatar Area.
The works shall consist of the following:
1 The road safety improvement measures to ensure the safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic on all roads throughout the State of Qatar.
2 The contractor shall note that the work may be required to proceed on more than one location at any one time and shall plan and arrange work and personnel to keep records of all activities, carry out follow-up work and report to the Engineer on a regular agreed basis.
3 The Works shall consist of but not necessarily limited to the following:
(a) Site Clearance;
(b) Earthworks;
(c) Sub-base;
(d) Flexible Surfacing;
(e) Kerbing & Footways;
(f) Traffic Signs and Road Markings;
(g) Barrier installation including crash cushions;
(h) Surface water drainage;
(i) Electricity Works;
(j) Q-Tel works;
(k) Keep record of all activities and report to the Engineer regularly.
(l) The Contractor shall continuously engage his staff in exploring new / hazardous locations where the road safety measures are absent, lacking or require improvement and report to the Engineer with proposals / designs for improvement.
The Contractor shall make a record to be agreed with the Engineer’s Representative of the condition of the Site and Works locations immediately before commencing each Work Package for the purpose of constructing the Works.
The actual quantities for whole of the Works are subject to re-measure in accordance with Sub Clauses 55.1 and 55.2 of the Conditions of Contract.
The Contractor shall complete and deliver the whole of the Works within Seven Hundred and Thirty (730) days plus Four Hundred (400) days Maintenance Period.
