The appointed Consultant shall undertake all necessary works necessary for the concept design based on the Value Engineering Net Present Value: • Upgrade Pumping Station PS1A1 to be capable of lifting all additional flow rates from the incoming sewer to the inlet works for the period of the design horizon. • Review and modify/upgrade the Tanker Discharge. The complete works should be completed to the satisfaction of Operation and Maintenance Department. • Inlet works with associated facilities including screens and grit removal units to be operated in parallel with the existing facilities providing treatment to the ultimate flow rates for the design horizon period of year 2030. • Neutralization and balancing tanks if necessary to dampen the effect of industrial sewage on the biological. • Oil water separators if necessary. • New CASS SBR or equivalent treatment technology with the associated facilities shall be installed in parallel with the existing units providing treatment to the ultimate flow rates for the agreed design horizon period of year 2030. Alternative aeration methods like for example jet and surface aeration to be evaluated against the membranes diffusers. • Evaluate generated TSE for the ultimate flow rates and produce a design for new emergency lagoon if required. The lagoon shall be sited in a suitable location. The lagoon shall be water retaining earth structure with sloping sides, requiring bank stabilization. Produce water management for TSE. • Upgrade the Final Effluent Pumping Station In accordance with Project C639/1 to serve the ultimate capacity of the design horizon of year 2030. • Upgrade TSE balancing tank or construct a new balancing tank capable of storing all additional volumes covering the design horizon period. • Upgrade the sludge Treatment facilities to meet the ultimate sludge volumes for the design horizon period. • Upgrade the Tertiary Treatment: filters and UV capacity to cover the design horizon period. • Upgrade power supply, potable water and telecommunication lines to meet the requirements and demands for the expansion works for the design horizon period. • Upgrade the SCADA system. • Propose at least two options for landscaping and other associated works including soft and hard landscaping, tree planting, roads and pathways, road/site lighting, and an appropriate irrigation networks.
