1. The construction of deep micro-tunnel trunk/main sewers for interception of flow from pumping stations PS 2, on the north side of Al Meena St, PS 7, PS 8, just north east of the Ras Aboud flyover Corniche crossing and PS 9, to the rear of Toyota Tower close to the ‘C’ Ring Road / Al Matar Street intersection together with associated area sewerage upgrading within the PS 2, PS 8 and PS16 catchment areas and the construction of micro-tunnel sewer to enable future interception of sewage flows from pumping station PS 1 on the south side of Souk Wakif.
2. The construction of a new pumping station PS 16N and attendant facilities on the site of the existing pumping station PS 16. Existing PS 16 shall be retained in service throughout the construction of PS 16N and the two pumping stations will operate in parallel on commissioning of the PS 16N facilities. Existing pumping station PS 16 shall be refurbished. Pumping Stations PS 2, PS 7 and PS 8 will be decommissioned and demolished following commissioning of the Interceptor Sewers and new Pumping Station PS 16N.
