1. Scope Of Works

Contractor shall carry out the following:

1.1 Load Test every one year:

Load test for all lifting equipment /tackles are to be done in every one calendar year as per QCS 2010, which is to be carried out by a Third Party Agency approved by PWA. This certification of the lifting equipment shall commence after one year of the Proof Load Test date which means that it is to be carried out in the second year of the contract.

1.2 Proof test every 4 years:
Proof Load Test for all lifting equipment /tackles are to be done in every four calendar years by a Third Party Agency approved by PWA. This certification of the lifting equipment shall commence in the first year of the contract. This means contractor has to do one Proof load test in the period of two years contract duration in the beginning of the contract.

2.3 Periodical Inspections/Corrective Maintenance
A Periodic Inspection is a detailed visual and operational inspection whereby individual components are examined to determine their condition. The Periodic Inspection is performed as often based on service, environmental and application factors.

2.3.1 The contractor has to carry out the Periodic Inspections semi-annually for all outdoor installations whereas annually for the remaining.

2.3.2 The guide line for conducting the periodic inspection is given in Appendix- 1. The contractor has to carry out all required inspections and rectify the faults noticed accordingly.

2.3.3 The contractor shall identify the defects and required spares during inspections/ troubleshooting and shall procure the required spare parts (Spare parts cost will be borne by PWA from Provisional sum), sort out the fault and make the unit ready for operation.

2.3.4 The contractor has to attend any breakdowns of any cranes on on-call as and when required, as informed by the Engineer  and shall be responsible  for trouble shooting, procurement of spares  and  recertification of the faults within the shortest period decided by the Engineer.

2.3.5 For manual lifting equipment (Chain Blocks) PWA will be responsible to rectify any defects and failures which disqualify them for a load test.

2.3.6 For electrical Hoists/EOT Cranes the Contractor is fully responsible for trouble shooting and rectification works as stated in Clauses 2.3.3 & 2.3.4

2.3.7 The contractor shall proceed to procure the spares once the spares requirement is reviewed / approved by the Engineer in order to keep lifting equipment operational. The Contractor shall provide three quotations for the required spare parts, one quotation from the manufacturer/authorized supplier and other from two different suppliers. ASHGHAL has the right to select the suitable quotation for each spare part as it is needed or may to obtain separate quote.
